Cherie Smith in Profile

Spring to me is about dusting off the cobwebs and feeling alive again with renewed energy and happiness with the promise of longer warmer days and nights and looking forward to summer by the beautiful bay.  I am exhibiting four pieces of art for the Spring Exhibition at the Continental Hotel that I think are vibrant and fun using colours that remind me of the Mornington Peninsula.    So far this year I have had my first solo exhibition at Oak Hill Gallery Mornington, entered work into the Drought Exhibition and Members Exhibition at Oak Hill, had work at McGee’s Gallery in Mornington, The Bays Hospital Mornington and the Art Prize at The Continental Hotel Sorrento.   I am excited and proud of the work I have created over the past year. I love painting spontaneously with movement and texture, expressing my emotions onto canvas and paper.    This has been a year of self discovery and experimentation. I draw inspiration from the environment and see the beauty in my surroundings.   Thankyou to all those who have encouraged and supported me and I look forward to new opportunities to pursue my passion for painting.
