Janne Kearney in Profile

Principally Janne Kearney is a portrait painter. Janne works in oils, broadness of brushwork, texture and use of a palette knife with a limitless use of colour is a signature of her work.   Her work features largely in the narrative and catching a moment in time or irony. Her paintings have a wholeness that catches an expression or essence of time and character.   These paintings are from a recent solo exhibition called ‘Gone Bush’.   It claims it title from the place where Janne captured the fun and merriment and comical situations of mates having a few drinks at their local pub ‘The Bush Inn’ in Geelong.   Janne Kearney is a Geelong based artist and has painted many portraits which feature in private collections across Australia.
