Rosie Barber in Profile

As a child Rosie Barber holidayed at Sorrento during a time when it was still an uncrowded coastal holiday village.   She always loved its changing
moods from tranquillity to vibrancy and that every part of each day could tell a completely different story.

Rosie has worked with numerous mediums including porcelain and ceramics.  However, in recent years she has focussed on oil painting because of its
ability to provide greater flexibility and definition and more effectively interpret the mood of her subject.   Working on large canvas Rosie endeavours to create a painting that is clear in its intent and does not require substantial detail to deliver its message. She thinks art reflects the personality and style of the purchaser.  Furthermore it should complement the statement a person wishes to make about the space in which they hang it".
