Simone Dole
in Profile
Simone’s contribution to the
Continental Spring exhibition follows on the heels of her last group
exhibition at Oak Hill where she and two other fellow students from TAFE,
explored the theme "Life is Never Still". "I was excited to be
invited to contribute to the Spring exhibition because it is very much my
current theme. I am constantly trying to find ways of
escaping the darkness and the cold and I don't just mean in the physical
sense.
There seems to be so much icy negativity and fear around us that there
doesn't seem to be enough time to capture and appreciate all the beauty
and the positives that arrive around the corner. Out of the darkness,
the sadness, the chaos and despair I have tried to capture and dramatize
those tiny, tender moments when beauty shines through. Thank God, Winter
turns into Spring. Blossom blooms to be fertilized and the cycle
continues. "
Simone has only recently returned to study art at Frankston TAFE. Having
left a career in the film industry to create a family Simone came back to
study art as a result of her children. "Whilst learning how to develop my
children’s creativity I discovered my own."
